Why Thai text in PDFs goes wrong
Thai stacks marks above and below its consonants, and each mark has to move with the letter under it. Many PDF creators and editors don't shape Thai text, so they put every mark in the same place: vowels float too high, tone marks sit on top of vowels, and the tails of ป ฝ ฟ collide with tone marks.
